TS-03 Mini Case Set: is it worth $11.99?
What's in the Luffy/Shanks/Hancock Mini Case Set, how it compares with DP-12 and loose OP-17 packs, and what our OP-17 price data says about opening packs.
The short version
- Mini Case Set Luffy/Shanks/Hancock [TS-03] releases on 30 October 2026 at $11.99 and contains two OP-17 booster packs, one mini case and one promo card.
- Both the mini case and the promo come in six designs, so you can't choose which you get.
- At the $4.99 pack price, two OP-17 packs cost $9.98, so the case and the promo cost you $2.01 on top.
- As of 22 October 2026, the 15 most valuable printings tracked for OP-17 make up 94% of the set's total TCGplayer value, which is why two packs rarely pay for themselves.
TS-03 is worth it if you want the promo or the case. For $11.99 you get two OP-17 packs, which cost $9.98 at the $4.99 MSRP, plus a mini case and one promo card. So the extras cost $2.01. As a way to chase OP-17's big cards, it's no better than two loose packs.
The Mini Case Set Luffy/Shanks/Hancock [TS-03] releases on 30 October 2026. Bandai's page shows six case designs and six promo designs, with the same price for any type. It doesn't list the promo card numbers, so we can't price them before they're out.
What's in TS-03
- 1 mini case, one of six designs
- 1 promotion card, one of six new designs
- 2 booster packs of OP-17 The World's Strongest Warriors
The name lists Luffy, Shanks and Hancock, and Bandai's product images show the six designs. Because both the case and the promo are random from six, a full set of promos means buying at least six boxes and almost certainly more, or trading for the ones you miss.
TS-03 vs DP-12 vs loose packs
| Option | Price | OP-17 packs | Extra | Cost of the extra |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Mini Case Set TS-03 | $11.99 | 2 | Mini case (1 of 6) and promo card (1 of 6) | $2.01 |
| Double Pack Set Vol.12 DP-12 | $11.99 | 2 | DON!! card (1 of 2); the box doubles as a card case | $2.01 |
| Two loose packs | $9.98 | 2 | None | – |
DP-12 came out on 28 August 2026 at the same $11.99 with the same two OP-17 packs. The difference is the bonus: a DON!! card in two designs instead of a promo card, and packaging you can reuse as a deck box. If you play, a DON!! card is something you'll actually put on the table. If you collect, the TS-03 promo is the more interesting card.
What two OP-17 packs are worth
We ran our OP-17 price report on 22 October 2026 (TCGplayer Market Price, USD). The 168 priced printings add up to $15,073.77, and the 15 most valuable account for 94% of that. The other 153 printings share about $857 between them, under $6 each on average.
The chase cards have also come down. The 13 top printings with launch-week prices are a median 43% lower than in launch week; 12 fell and one rose. OP17-079 Monkey.D.Luffy's parallel is at $1,421.46 against $2,250.00 in launch week. Unless you hit one of those 15 printings, two packs are mostly playables and bulk.
How to decide
Choosing between TS-03, DP-12 and singles
Decide what you want from the purchase
If it's a specific OP-17 card, buy the single. Our box vs singles guide runs the numbers on why that's almost always cheaper.
Check the store price, not just MSRP
The $2.01 gap only holds at MSRP. If a store sells loose OP-17 packs under $4.99 or TS-03 above $11.99, the extras get more expensive fast.
Pick the bonus you'll use
Collectors get more from the TS-03 promo; players get more from the DP-12 DON!! card and reusable box.
Wait for promo prices if you want a specific design
With six designs at random, buying the single promo after release is usually cheaper than opening several sets to find one.
